These center pieces are made in a nautical look due to the wedding being held on Cape Cod, MA. Very beach and sand area. I bought white metal and glass lanterns (for the nautical look) and a candle in the center of each and with a dried flower ring around each one. I decorated the flower ring with sea shells by hot gluing them to the flowered rings. I then set the arrangement on a I inch thick solid oak round cutting board.

My friend is having a July wedding and her theme is nautical. She's looking for favors that have that theme but can be of use later and not left on the table after the reception. Any ideas are appreciated and thank you in advance.
How about small wooden boats with the bride and grooms name on them they can later be used as Christmas ornaments?
A friend of mine had a nautical theme too, and they used cute little glass bottles with cork stoppers, filled with sand and a few tiny seashells on top of the sand. Looked very cute. I took mine home and used them in my bathroom on a shelf.
What if you made CD's of ocean waves and sounds that could be used as a relaxation or meditation CD later? You could also very inexpensivly buy jewel cd cases and print custom covers with your name and wedding date with a picture of the two of you, (possibly by the ocean or on a boat) on the CD case.
Depends on what you want to spend, there are a few websites that have nautical keychains. silver or gold, lighthouse, sailboat, ships wheel, even compass. I would also try to use them as the placecards for table assignments.
I think these seaside frames are adorable - they can serve as placecard holders and favors. Plus, you can give it a special touch by adding a personal note to the back.

Just to add to your theme, you could get a lobster or crab cage/trap to serve as a holder for wedding cards and add to the decor!
What about those handmade glycerine (melt & pour) type soaps. They have shell designs and are available in most craft stores.
How about bottled water? You can design your own label with your pic or your nautical theme- ocean or sunset. I did this and the cost was about $0.80/bottle. Fun, creative & unique. Good Luck & Have Fun! Jaguar2010
