Have your wedding later in the evening and serve desserts only instead of a full dinner. It is no longer a "must" to serve a full meal as long as your ceremony and reception are late enough for the guests to eat before they arrive. For our backyard wedding, we had a "dessert buffet" that looked very classy but was only a fifth of the cost of serving full meals, plus it left us more time to have fun with our guests!

I absolutely love this idea.. and if you had some really great varieties of desserts..and maybe some good champagne..hmm..gonna suggest this to some tight budgeted friends..thanks!!!
This is a wonderful idea. So classy, and such a saving.
back in 1995 when I married, we did
a dessert wedding. Our invite stated
Champagne & Cake Reception.
We did offer some cheese cracker trays
and cold cut trays and some other small things.
oh that is just were they got their chocolate
for their coffee shop and cakes. I did not
special order it. And the cost was CHEAP I was
a regular at the coffee shop and they became
San Diego #1 coffee shop that year
The Living Room. It was under $50.00 dollars.
that was my thrify find.

They'll all cut your costs dramatically. Enjoy.
