My daughter wants to get married in our church, but hates the carpet. Are there any ideas to cheaply cover the carpet? It would be not only the aisle, but also at the altar area.

I say do the runner up the aisle and then do another runner (or 2) across the area where her, her Groom, and Bridal party will be standing.
Once standing at the alter, they'll (probably) be blocking the majorty of the alter carpets' view from guests & the photgrapher anyway. Same goes for any decorations hanging from the pews (blocking "side-carpeting" on the aisle.)
Unless the carpet is truly *hideous*, I doubt anyone will be looking at it ~ they'll be watching 2 people pledging their love.
Besides, when looking back at pictures, who really notices something as *insignifcant* as *carpeting*? (Speaking of pictures, just have her tell the photographer how she feels about the carpeting & ask them to shoot with as little of it in the frame as possible.)
The only other option is to pay to have the whole church re-carpeted. ;-)
