I am helping a friend get suggestions for her wedding. She has a $10,000 budget to work with. Any ideas? They have contemplated Vegas.

Wow! What a budget. The average person can do alot with a $10,000 Wedding Budget. I personally would do something small & intimate with the family & friends & spend the bulk of it on a week long romantic honeymoon.

Alot of people love using the Pocono's as their honeymoon destination. Here's a link for them to look at: www.caesarspoconoresorts.com/

I just did my daughters wedding for less than that. She had a church wedding all we did were bows on the pews and we used the churches candle holders. We had a reception at a golf and country club. we used there center pieces...square mirrors and candles. we bought red silk rose petals and sprinkled them on the tables. we did a buffet. we chose a less expensive one chicken, beef, veggies, potatoes, tea coffee. we had open bar on beer, wine, and sodas, and a cash bar for the rest. Everything was great better than expected. I can't believe how well it turned out..I was told I would need to spend 20,000 It pays to shop around. We also had bubbles and favors for all our guest. hope this info helps
I wish I had 10 grand for my wedding! I am getting married in August and I have about a 4,500 dollar budget. I am ordering my roses from marisol blooms they offer 250 roses for 155 dollars!
How many people is she planning on inviting? Maybe check into the all-inclusive wedding where you honeymoon at the same resort you get married at.
I didn't have $10,000. to spend on my wedding. We had a nice but small wedding. I'd bought my dress off a discount rack in a bridal shop, but didn't want a floor length, so I opted for "Mother-in-Law's dress". It was a beautiful cream colored dress & suited my budget perfectly. My Mom & Sister made all my wedding flowers, decorations & centerpieces. Only 35 were there for our evening ceremony. All in all, if I had to do it all over again, I'd elope.
I have a pal who did the 15 minute drive thru wedding in Las Vegas (her 2nd marriage & didn't want all the hoopla). They said their vows, exchanged rings & it was all over!! No Elvis impersonator was there.
Then, I had some relatives come out to Vegas. The wanted to renew their wedding vows and surprisingly they wanted an Elvis impersonator at their wedding & had one.
Best of luck on your decision and in the future!
If you are having a reception it is a neat idea to have disposable cameras at each table. Another idea is to have cloth pieces and have everyone sign it with good advice. Then take the cloth pieces and make a quilt. Also, a friend of mine had a movie montage of pictures of the couple as they grew up.
Try outdoors at a local park, or site that you like. I choose an old Spanish Mission . We had a cake and
champagne reception following wedding. We had dips, chips, drinks, appetizers, etc also it was WONDERFUL and NO STRESS!! Remember the wedding is your time and it goes by so fast why waste so much $$ on stuff. What matters is you and groom and friends and family sharing your moment.
Instead of getting a wedding cake, purchase a tiered stand and designate a willing friend or family member to make and ice individual cupcakes. You can purchase edible glitter at beryls.com and it makes a surprisingly beautiful display for 1/4 the price. Also, find a reception site that works on minimums, if you spend a certain amount on food and beverage, the room is free.
I did my wedding for about $1,200.00. I made my bouquet and the ones the bridesmaids were going to carry. I also made my centerpieces, the ring bearers pillow, and the baskets for the flowergirls. We asked a flower shop for the extra rose petals that fall off normally they usually sell them by the bag for under$10.00 for the flower girl baskets and we did all the food with finger foods from the Wal-mart deli
My wedding is in August- around a $10,000 budget. My mother is growing most of the flowers. Our caterer offers with the set up square mirrors and candles. My dress was bought of the rack at a bridal store that was closing. Just have to have it sized down.... Bought flower girl dresses at Marshalls- for $20!! I found my neices' dress, the junior bridesmaid, on Craigslist- it was used only one time! Shop around!! Don't settle on the first idea- or place :)
