I am planning a spring wedding. I need a lot of stuff and I was wondering on the prices for flowers. I need 14 boutonnières and 8 corsages and two center pieces for the church all real and then fake 7 boutonnières. The colors are cornflower blue and yellow and I don't know what flowers I want.

The cost of wedding flowers is impacted by the time of year, the area in which you live, the florist you choose/or if you do it yourself, and if you are needing flowers in the two weeks (or immediately after) holidays such as Valentine's Day or Mother's Day.
Boutonniers should be $6-$8 each and coursages could range in price from $10-$20 each.(Right before special holidays prices could be higher.) These items are labour intensive to make. Be sure to see an example of the quality of work that your florist produces before you finalize your order. Order as soon as possible because it takes TIME to ship flowers in and MAKE the flower arrangements.

If you want to attempt doing the flowers yourself, I'd suggest mini-carnations for a small boutonnière or regular-sized carnations for a large boutonnière. Carnations should hold up well on the day of the wedding and mini-carnations come in a wide variety of shades of yellow. Softer shades of yellow work very well in wedding flowers.
Instead of corsages you might want to consider giving a single stem carnation or yellow rose. A simple bow or netting on the stem would dress up the flower. You could purchase water tubes to put on the end of the rose stem to keep the roses fresh throughout the day. Check around for the best prices on bulk flowers. (i.e. Costco has good prices and our local Costco lets us place orders for specific colors to be available on a specific day - order ahead)
When you talk about center pieces for the church I think you might mean the arrangements that people have at the front of the church. You can rent the large baskets or stands for the front of the church, and rather than fill them with EXPENSIVE flowers, why not use large flowing ferns with a festive bow in your wedding colors.
Hope this helps give you something to think about. On your wedding day don't stress about all the little details-focus on your future together and enjoy your friends and family that have gathered. -Lynn
I did my own flowers for my wedding almost 25 yrs ago. If you are in an area where QueenAnns Lace grows wild, it makes a beautiful filler for bouquets. I "Recruited" my brides maid the afternoon before my wedding, and went to a big field near my house to pick the QueenAnns Lace(I was living in Ohio at the time)We took small buckets of water to keep them fresh on the ride home. I purchased spray paint in my wedding colors(mauve&blue) and sprayed them. This helped to preserve them, and looked beautiful with the white roses that I purchased at my local Kroger store.
The type of flowers you choose will greatly impact the price also--carnations will be cheaper than roses, which will be cheaper than orchids, etc. When we got married, we picked a day when there was another wedding and scheduled ours first, so the church would be filled with flowers from both.
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. Much love, health and happiness to you both. I think with you color scheme you can go with the Dutch Iris. But, if out of season, could cost you. I truly believe in Costco when it comes to flowers. Check with you local Costco or distributor for a discount. All the best for a most wonderful life together.
Think about "live" rose and flower alternatives. Research wooden roses for weddings. They are more economical and last a lifetime as keepsakes. You can start to purchase now and make your corsages, boutonierres, centerpieces, favors, even your bouquets.

When my daughter and I were planning her wedding last year, we initially got a price of 750$ for real flowers. My daughter was in a little sticker shock even though we paid for her day. I showed her this site and we ended up getting all the flowers from this young lady. She does beautiful work and were very pleased. We got a bridal bouquet, 2 bridesmaids bouquets, 10 corsages, 10 boutoniers for roughly $200. I don't know where she gets her flowers, but I didn't see anything remotely close in Michaels or AC Moore. They were very rich looking and photographed very nicely. If you look at the links I sent, my daughter is Kira, but all of the flowers and young women look great with *their* flower selections. Elza does beautiful work and I highly recommend her!
I would suggest asking about flower orders at some of the big box stores like Costco or online for bulk wholesale flowers. We used http://www.morethanabunch.com to purchase our wedding flowers, then made the arrangements ourselves.
Good luck!
