For meats, you usually allow 1/4 pound a person.
Pasta is 2/3 cup for one serving.
I would allow a cup of vegetables per person.
3-4 appetizers per person per hour.

This is all going to depend on what you want to serve. Do you want this as a cocktail party or a dinner party? Jack & Jill parties can be either one.

Here is the questions to ask yourself and the answers will help to determine how much food and drinks you'll need.

Do you want a cocktail party or dinner party?
Do you want to serve only beer and wine?
Do you want mixed drinks?
What time will this be, late afternoon or early evening?
How long will this be?
Do you want a sit down type of dinner affair?
Do you want a buffet type of affair that people can go and serve themselves?
What do you want to serve? Chicken, fish, pork, meat or what?

Once you have all this answered, then you can determine how much food you'll need. Now it is simple to use a food calculating chart to buy your food. Here is a good one you can use: www.chef-menus.com/food-quantity-chart.html
