It doesn't matter if your guest book is an expensive one or one with little covering and embellishment.

  1. Lay it flat and using white satin material cut and measure it to fit the book with about 2-3 inches to be turned back inside the covers of the book and hot glued down to secure your material cover.

  2. After your book is covered hot glue gathered lace around the entire book (laid down flat for a proper fit).

  3. To cover your raw edged of the lace glue a pretty braid or trim over it.

  4. Decorate with a small cluster of flowers and a 2 loop bow with tails to hang.

I hate guest books at family gatherings! Usually only a page or two is filled and afterwards they just sit in a box somewhere. Well, for my wedding we did something more fun!

We got a plain large (about 1/4 thick) poster board and a black pen. It had our wedding invitation in the middle and our guests were able to sign their name or write a little message to us around that invite. PLUS, afterwards, we framed it and it is hanging up in our home for us to treasure! Every time I walk by, I have a great memory from that beautiful day!

We want to use a vinyl record as our guest book at our wedding. Any suggestions on the best type of marker to use?

You could maybe use a gold or silver paint pen. They make some with glitter too. Sharpie pens come in a wide variety of colors, tho I would do a "test signing" on another record to see which is the best.

Good luck and congratulations!!

A white or bright colored fine tip paint marker would work best. I would also give the record a light couple of sprays with clear plastic spray paint to preserve the signatures when the wedding is over.
