Bouquets, Corsages and Boutonnieres

When we did the flowers for my daughter's wedding, we asked a friend who was talented as making bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, etc. She did a wonderful job. We were able to save a lot of money because we bought the flowers fresh, right off the floral shop's delivery truck. This is a sample of what we had that day. These were live flowers.

Good for you Robin. These days flowers are so expensive. And to have a talented friend is a bonus. A lovely wedding picture. GG Vi

For my wedding, we purchased 2 large bushes of asst. flowers from Home Interiors, 2 spools of 1-1/2" iridescent ribbon, @ 2yrds of cream tulle, and 2-3 bushes of ivy/greenery from Wal-Mart. My step-mother once worked for a florist so we put her skills to work on all the flowers.

With the above items, she was able to create (1) lrg trailing bouquet for me, (1) 1/2 size bouquet for the bridesmaid-which doubled as a centerpiece for the gift table at the reception, a floral cake topper, (3) boutonnieres, and (4) coursages for the mothers. All total, we spent around $60-$75 on flowers and supplies. The flowers looked very professional and the best part, they would not die!
After the wedding, the bouquets were used as a mantle piece, and years later, disassemblied for other projects.

Best of luck! Thanks for the helpful tips!

My daughter got a great deal buying bunches of flowers, even roses, from the farmers market, for her wedding.
